About

Prof.T.M. Soundararajan, fondly known as “TMS Sir” is a doyen in the field of Mathematics Education and Teaching. During his 34 years of experience as a high school Mathematics teacher and as the Principal of a reputed school, TMS Sir has produced thousands of students who have excelled both in their exams and indirectly, in their lives. His teaching philosophy has always been, “An average teacher talks, a good teacher explains, a very good teacher demonstrates, but a great teacher inspires. And a teacher is great only when he or she goes the extra mile to create enthusiasm among students to develop their skills.” True to this motto, his teaching methodology drills the concepts with clarity into the students minds and instills the problem solving approach with meticulousness. This has turned students who were mortally scared of Mathematics into those who are confident in the subject and have achieved centums. No wonder he is hailed by India’s most popular newspapers as the “Math Demon Slayer” (The Hindustan Times) and as a highly experienced, visionary and supportive teacher (The Hindu). TMS Sir has also significantly influenced and made a substantial contribution at the Training Program on Question Paper setting, jointly organized by Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examinations and National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. He has been in the panel of Authors appointed by the Educational Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, for the revised textbooks in Mathematics for the Higher Secondary classes. He was also appointed Key Resource Person in Mathematics by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu for Training and Orientation for Mathematics Teachers across the state.
